78m Lürssen Superyacht Odisea (ex Ace 21) Delivered

The 78m fully custom superyacht Odisea has been officially delivered in Germany, concluding a highly secretive three-year build under the project name Ace 21.

Built with naval architecture by Lürssen, the full-custom yacht spans five decks and a gross tonnage of 2,500 GT, becoming one of the most significant deliveries of 2026. According to YachtBuyer MarketWatch, she has now departed the Lemwerder facility and is currently en route to London, UK.

Odisea: A Three-Year Build

Work on Odisea began in March 2022 with the keel laying at Stahlbau Nord in Bremerhaven. Her steel hull and aluminum superstructure were built inside Lunehalle I before the yacht was moved onto the 95-meter pontoon barge Bhv Innovation for transfer along the Weser River to Lürssen’s Lemwerder facility in April 2023. Outfitting and technical installation continued there under strict confidentiality.

The project remained tightly under wraps throughout construction. Odisea was glimpsed briefly in early 2024 when the yacht was moved between halls at the Lemwerder site, giving the first indication of her scale and proportions.

Her technical launch followed in May 2025, after which the yacht completed sea trials in the North Sea during the summer months. With testing finalized, Odisea has now been handed over to her owner and has begun her first journey following delivery.

Defined Lines and Open Decks

Odisea presents a commanding silhouette that balances contemporary geometry with Lürssen’s traditional emphasis on proportion. Her lines are defined by broad overhangs that create shaded decks, while the superstructure alternates between enclosed glass lounges and open-air terraces.

Teak decking runs across all five levels, furnished with integrated sunpads and multiple lounging and dining areas. The main deck features a large, partially elevated pool framed by submerged barstools, introducing a rare swim-up bar concept to a motor yacht of this scale. Above, the upper deck hosts a glass-fronted Jacuzzi positioned aft for uninterrupted sea views.

Life Onboard Odisea

While Lürssen has not released details of Odisea’s interior design team or layout, her 2,500-gross-ton volume suggests expansive accommodations across five decks. She is understood to feature a beach club, spa, and gym alongside multiple guest lounges and dining areas. A dedicated owner’s study and cinema are also anticipated within the layout, aligning with the yard’s approach to large-scale private yachts.

Outdoor living is central to the concept. Shaded terraces, alfresco dining zones, and wellness spaces are distributed across several levels to support long-range cruising in warm or temperate climates. From the broad swim platform to the upper-deck Jacuzzi, Odisea is tailored for relaxation and social life at sea.

Built on a full-displacement steel hull with an aluminum superstructure, Odisea combines strength with efficiency. Her twin diesel engines drive conventional shaft propellers, enabling stable, ocean-going performance. Although Lürssen has not disclosed specific figures, yachts of similar size and configuration typically achieve a cruising speed around 13 knots with a range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles.

With Odisea now delivered, attention turns to other major projects progressing through Lürssen’s build program. Recent launches such as Boardwalk, Nausicaä, and the 109m O3 highlight the continued scale and pace of construction at the German shipyard.
